Eating lip gloss is gross but I unconscientiously do it anyways. Victoria Secret one's are really gross. I think Lancome Juicy Tubes and the ones at Claires are ok?

I've lately heard that using lip gloss/any lip product, even a lip balm would cause lips to turn black after certain age.. I luv muh lip gloss n jz can't live widout it, at least lip balm!! Is it true?? [expectin it not to be.lol!] plz answer![lip gloss]true?
oh thats sooo not true. they have found some lipsticks that contained large amounts of lead, that caused them to turn black, but they have taken it out. you should be good.[lip gloss]true?

I would look at this website. There are some products that have been shown to contain amounts of led. Unfortunately, it is true.
Check out The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. Remember thought that just because a company is not listed, doesn't mean it has lead in it. However, they have listed some companies that have refused to sign the contract.
Avon in fact is listed as having refused to sign.

How can i make lip gloss from everyday ingredients?
I was thinking;
-Mineral oil
-Strawberry juice [for flavoring and mabye smell if it works]
-some crushed vitamin pills so its rich in vitamin
i want it to be liquid lip gloss so dont say 'put in the fridge'. also does anybody know where i can buy some empty lip gloss bottles?

Lip Gloss
Materials
Vegetable shortening, honey, unsweetened drink mix (eg. Kool-Aid), hot water
Use a small bowl to mix 1 tbsp of the solid vegetable shortening and 1 tsp of honey. In a separate bowl, mix the drink mix and 1/4 tsp of hot water until it is dissolved. Stir in as much of the drink mix as possible. The actual amount will depend on the temperature of water. The more you can dissolve, the stronger the flavour will be.
You can choose the color and flavor of you lip gloss by the type of drink mix you use.
Add one drop of the water mixture to the shortening/honey base. Stir well. Repeat until you get the color/flavor combination you want. Pour into a clean container or old lip gloss pot.
Store in the refrigerator. Keeps for 3 days, but it tastes so good that you will use it up very fast!

Powdered Cocoa Mix
Petroleum Jelly
Small Container
Instructions:
Put desired amount of petroleum jelly into a small glass bowl. Put it in a microwave for 30 seconds; take it out and stir. Continue doing this until the vaseline is melted. Add the desired amount of cocoa powder (experiment!) and stir. Miscrowave for 30 more seconds and stir. Set it aside to cool.
Once it is cool enough to handle, spoon it into a small container (recycle old makeup containers or 35mm film containers, or look in stores that carry beads, crafts, or fishing tackle). Set it aside until the petroleum jelly gets firm, and then it is ready to use!
You can also use this recipe to make fruit lip gloss by using powedered juice mix instead of cocoa.

i'm into theatre and do a lot of shows, so i need to have makeup that works. i found a really nice color lip gloss and i can't get it to stay on no matter what. i heard something about ice but i don't know what. help! not even expensive 24 hour color stays on my lips. i'd really like to know how to be able to keep something on without reapplication after every scene.Lip gloss coming off?

guys generally seem to like the 'natural look'... (they don't realise this takes at least 30mins to perfect!!!)
Minimal makeup is most attractive- enough to make the most of what you have got and give you confidence. But no one wants to go out with someone who looks like a clown, or a child who crawled through their mother's makeup drawer.
Don't over-emphasise both eyes and lips, choose your strongest feature and focus on that, you don't want to look tooo made up unless you're going out somewhere you feel that would be the best.
I don't get manicures, I do have long nails but I keep them non-sharp and in good condition and paint them red, and DON'T LET NAIL POLISH CHIP...thats ugly.
As for blonde vs red... have to go against them both and say BRUNETTE cos I am brunette (well my hair is blonde-brown but I'll say I am brunette haha). But you get attractive people with all diff coloured hair so depends on the person.Guys-- mascar vs. no mascara...lip gloss vs. no gloss..manicure vs. no manicure..blonde vs. red?

Lip Gloss Gone?
I love wearing lip gloss but it seems to wear off so quickly. Is there a secret to helping it stay on longer? Before anyone suggests it, I CANNOT AFFORD MORE EXPENSIVE LIP GLOSS.Lip Gloss Gone?
Not really. You can wear a colored base - i.e. a lipstain (like BeneTint) or a lip pencil that matches the color of your lips under the gloss so you will have some color left after the gloss wears off.Lip Gloss Gone?
this one lip gloss at bath%26amp; body works stay on pretty long. its called mentha lip shine. dont know if u ever used it before but i it stays on kinda long.
You can set the lip gloss with a light dusting of translucent powder to help it stay longer. Or just use a lip primer to help it stay on. Another trick to try, use a lip pencil, that helps it stay on as well. You have a ton of options. :)

the stickier one stay on the longest though.
i dont like them cuz they feel gross to me.
the thinner more slippery ones feel better but u just have to remember not to lick your lips or press them together very much.
